Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany) and the University of Botswana, in cooperation with other international partners in International Network on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development (IN//RCSD) cordially invite applications for its Master Class on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development.

Course Information

The master class follows a research-based approach to learning. The objectives of the IN//RCSD Master Class are to provide advanced undergraduate and MA students as well as PhD candidates with theoretical and methodological research techniques in religion and sustainable development, which has so far found its way into the curricula of only a few universities. The course offers lectures and seminar sessions on religion and gender in/equality and religion and development offered by internationally renowned scholars. Moreover, participants will take part in an advanced course in qualitative research methods. Undergraduate and MA students will have the chance to conduct (small scale) empirical research projects in interdisciplinary teams. PhD candidates will have the opportunity to network and discuss their respective research projects in a colloquium. The Advanced PhD course will also focus on research ethics, academic writing, and publication. In addition, all participants will have the opportunity to go on thematic excursions to religious/cultural sites.
