Timo Biank studied at the University of Trier sociology, cultural anthropology and economics and graduated in 2006 with a diploma in sociology. He worked for the last fifteen years in various positions for GIZ in Mauretania, Ukraine and Germany. As a team leader of the GIZ Sector Programme Religion and Development, he is currently advising the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in the implementation of their 2016 published strategy "Religious communities as partners for development cooperation".
