Nadine Bowers Du Toit is currently an Associate Professor in ‘Theology and Development’ / Diaconia (Dept. Practical Theology & Missiology) at the Faculty of Theology, University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). The majority of her research has focused on the intersection between religion, poverty and inequality with a special ocus on the role of local congregations and Faith Based Organisations (FBO’s) in addressing these pressing concerns within the South African context. She serves on the board of two Non-Profit Organisations, is the irector of the Unit for Religion and Development Research (URDR) at Stellenbosch University and is the secretary of the International Academy of Practical Theology. She sees herself as an activist academic always seeking to push for space for more voices to be heard.
