Profile
Emma is a second year PhD student in the School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion at the University of Birmingham. Her current research takes place in collaboration with the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) and Lumad Indigenous persons in the Philippines in their defence of human, land and environmental rights. It aims to articulate how the theology of the IFI and ontology of Lumad communities form an ecology of knowledges that can contribute to a pluriverse of alternative worldviews capable of challenging the hegemony of capitalism. Prior to her current position Emma worked as a research and policy manager at the United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG). Before this Emma lived and worked in Latin America for over six years.
