Philipp Öhlmann is the head of the Research Programme in Religious Communities and Sustainable Development. Philipp conducted extensive research on African Initiated Churches and development cooperation. He is the executive editor of the newly-established open access journal Religion & Development. Prior to his academic career, Philipp worked as a programme officer for inter-church aid at the German Protestant Churches' Development Agency, Brot für die Welt.
